Turkish stock exchange opens Tuesday on high note

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 6,721.45 points, up 0.39%, or 26.32 points, from the previous close.

On Monday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed at 6,695.14 points, gaining 0.11% with a daily trading volume of 136.4 billion liras ($5.05 billion).

The US dollar/lira exchange rate was at 26.9387 as of 9.55 a.m. local time (0655GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 29.8612, while a British pound traded for 34.6103 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $82.59 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,964.45.
